Week 26 updates

Hayden now weighs about a pound and two-thirds and measures 14 inches from head to heel.

Practice breaths. This week, Hayden's nostrils are starting to open up, which gives him the chance to practice breathing using his muscles and lungs. There's no air to take in, of course, so instead he "inhales" and "exhales" amniotic fluid. By the time he's born, he'll be a pro.

What a sucker! Hayden is also flexing some of his feeding muscles— his lips and mouth. His sucking reflex is so strong that if his hand floats by his face, he'll suck on his thumb or fingers.

Up for grabs. "Grasping something—like my umbilical cord—is my newest trick." Hayden is practicing his killer grip right now. His favorite pull toy is his umbilical cord, which he likes to yank and tug.

He is continuing to kick and is getting stronger and stronger each week. Now if he would just stop being shy and show others his strong kicks in mommy's tummy. Every time someone tries to watch his athletic ability he decides to stop and go back to sleep. :)

Easter

Well Hayden got his first Easter basket of goodies from his Aunt Bethany. I don't know why he didn't get any chocolates this year!! Holidays will be different now with a kiddo! :) We are excited!

He got another easter basket from Penny. I think Zach had more fun opening and playing with the stuff inside of it. We wish that Hayden was here already to enjoy Easter with us this year.

Three more months!!

Week 25 Update

Head to heels, Hayden approximately measures about 13 1/2 inches. His weight — a pound and a half, but he's beginning to exchange his long, lean look for some baby fat. As he does, his wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and he'll start to look more and more like a newborn. His hair is probably recognizable now (in color and texture), although both may change after he's born.

We have really enjoyed his movements within the last few weeks. He has become very active and will kick hard enough where you can see it through my shirt. Penny and Brenna had to be patient to see him kick but they finally did. He is so random in his kicking. He gets his randomness from his daddy. Last night for the first time it was like he stretched instead of kicked. Instead of a hard and fast movement it was very slow in and out. That was fun to watch.

MOVED!

Well we have finally moved, sort of. We brought most of our stuff to Pittsburg this weekend except for the furniture and some garage stuff. It still has not hit me that this is our new life. It's like we are vacationing still. Living in someone else's house with their stuff is strange but it is a blessing that we can leave our stuff in the house until it sells. Speaking of that - we have an offer right now so we are hoping it will go through. We are ready to have a house so we can start working on Hayden's room before he gets here. We also found out this weekend that the children's minister's here at Emmanuel are having a baby in November! They are really sweet couple and we are excited for them! That's the latest from Pittsburg, Texas!

New contact information

I have sent out an e-mail to several of you with our new contact information. If for some reason you didn't get it and want it send me an e-mail to TwinRR1@aol.com and I will get it to you. We don't want to publish it online for ALL to see :)

Doctor Appointment

Well the appointment went well. Blood pressure, weight, etc... all okay. Hayden's heartbeat is good and strong as always.

She did tell me that the next appointment I will have to do the hour glucose test, which is when you drink a sugary drink and then one hour later they take your blood. It's to see how your body reacts to sugar and to check for diabetes is what I am told. My appointment isn't until 11:00 and I have to fast before this test! That will be a little hard. It is also with my new doctor so I am a little nervous about it.

I was also informed that I start my every two weeks appointments now. Until now I have been going every 4 weeks. Can't believe how fast this pregnancy has been. It seems like we just found out we were going to be parents! Works out good though since I will be subbing, I will not have to take off of work I can just not take sub jobs that day or do 1/2 day subbing.

New Number/Address

We have our new phone number for the rent house in Pittsburg. If you don't have it yet, send us an e-mail and we will get it to you. We are getting a PO Box this week and will send it out as soon as we know it. That's the latest! We are so ready to be together again and not be apart.

Week 24 Update and other stuff

Hayden is growing steadily, gaining about a quarter of a pound since last week, when he was just over a pound. Since he's almost a foot long that makes a pretty lean figure, but his body is filling out proportionally and he'll soon put on more baby fat. Hayden's skin is thin, translucent, and wrinkled, his brain is growing rapidly, and his taste buds are developing. His lungs are developing "branches" of the respiratory "tree" and cells that produce surfactant, a substance that helps the air sacs inflate easily.

Next doctor appointment is on Tuesday. Should be a simple appointment.

Still waiting for an offer on the house. This is my last week at school as we are "moving" this weekend. Since the rent house is full furnished we will have another move once the house sells but this weekend we will be moving our bed (because the bed there is as hard as a rock!), kitchen stuff, clothes, etc... We are also going to try to get everything out of storage in Arlington and store it here in Pittsburg so we will not have as much to move when the house sells. So if anyone is in the Arlington area this weekend and is bored, we will be packing and moving and would love some help! :)

New Mommy

I love this picture! Baby T is moving around and kicking all the time. Sometime I can feel it and sometimes I can't. Benita is loving being a mama. I love watching her glow when she feels him flipping around.

We went to Lauren Baileys and Ryan Miller's wedding this weekend. Here are some pictures and a funny video of Brenna! :)
