Well we survived!
We had to be at the hospital at 6:15 this morning for Hayden's surgery. He had tubes put into his ears to help with all of his ear infections.
Granny came and spent the night with us last night and went with us. We got there on time and they came in and took vitals - blood pressure, temperature, and attempted several times to get oxygen levels and heart rate. Finally they came in with another type of reader which worked.
He also had to put on a hospital gown which was strange to see on him. We took some pictures - will post soon.
About 7:30 they came and got him to go to the back. Luckily the nurse that got him had a bright green hat which distracted him and he didn't even realize he left mom and dad. No crying at all. Except from mom of course.
Our pastor - Bro Kyle - and his wife Angela came. So did a good friend Tricia. We visited for a while which helped me!
Ten minutes later the doctor came back in and said all went well and we would be able to see him soon. They would only let one of us back in the recovery room so I went and then started crying immediately. Hayden was screaming his all of his lungs. Poor baby. They had him wrapped in several blankets. I held him and we gave him some pedialyte (he had not eaten since 8:30 the night before) We had to do that first because in case while he drank he screamed and the liquid got into his lungs it would be absorbed. Then he had his bottle which he would sip some then scream, sip, scream over and over.
We then got to go back into his outpatient room to see daddy. He continued to be a little fussy but settled down by the time we got out of the hospital. He just wanted out of there!!
He is doing much better now. Acting like a little boy again. There is some blood draining from his ear which the doctor said would happen. He has to have drops two times a day for seven days.
That was our eventful morning and now I am going to take a nap while Hayden is asleep!
