Baby T is more than 11 inches long and weighs just over a pound. His skin is red and wrinkled. Blood vessels in his lungs are developing to prepare him for breathing. He can swallow, but he normally won't pass his first stool (called meconium) until after birth. Now that the bones in his ears have hardened, the baby can hear us and prefers our voice to any other sound.
120 days to go. We are very excited and are ready for him to arrive! Last night we had a first. We saw him kick my belly and it moved on the outside! It was funny to watch. He was so active last night ALL night long. Maybe it was the chocolate M&Ms or maybe the caffeine in the tea but he was an active baby last night. We had fun watching and feeling him kick all around.
We are still working on names. This is a big decision! We didn't realize how hard it would be to come up with a name. We have two or three we are considering so hopefully soon you will know the name of our little boy!
Our first baby shower is tomorrow. We are looking forward to it. It is at my school. I only have two more weeks left and they wanted to have a shower before I left. We have already received some baby clothes, books, stuffed animals and some other little things from some close friends and family. Now we just have to store it all until we can find a house to move into!

showing
So we got a call yesterday that our house was going to be shown this morning from 9:30 - 10:30. We also have an open house this afternoon from 1:30 - 3:30. So since I will already have to been gone for two hours this afternoon and because I was by myself, I just got in the car and went up the street and watched. I was hoping they wouldn't come at 10:30 and I would be sitting for an hour (I took a book to read). Well right at 9:34 two cars pulled up into my driveway. It was the weirdest feeling to see someone else at my house. They looked around the outside, pointed at some things and then went inside. They were inside for about 20 minutes then came back outside, walked around and pointed at more things. Then they left. So I got to come back to the house at 10:00 instead of 10:30. It was just so strange to know that someone else was in my house. I know that there have been lots of people in our house but actually watching them go in was different! So that's my random post of the week! :)

Registry
So I think we are finally done registering. We are registered at Babies R Us and Target. We had a lot of fun doing it even though we are exhausted. We have several baby showers planned already. We wanted to register for a variety of prices for those purchasing things off our registry. Just so you can mark your calendars these are the dates that are already planned: March 3rd - Swift Elementary (This is why we had to register so early, my school wants to do a shower before I leave); May 17th - Tyler; May 31st - Arlington. Pittsburg already made a comment about doing a shower also but don't know a date. So let the fun begin! :)
House Update 101
Well we are still having about 4 - 5 showings on the house a week. We have had an open house the last two weekends and will have one this weekend also.
We got our first offer but it was AWFUL!! They just offered the appraised tax value on the house and wanted us to leave the fridge, washer and dryer. NO WAY! We can't afford to buy three new appliances and there is no way we are accepting an awful that LOW! They also didn't want to close for another two months. Crazy!
So with that said, continue to pray for an offer that is a DECENT offer that we can accept so the house can be sold and we don't have to continue paying both a rent and a mortgage.

Week 22 Update
Our baby boy now looks like a miniature newborn, checking in at 10.9 inches and 1 pound. His skin will continue to appear wrinkled until he gains enough weight to fill it out, and the fine hair (lanugo) that covers his head and body is now visible. His lips are becoming more distinct, and the first signs of teeth are appearing as buds beneath his gum line. His eyes are developed, though the iris (the colored part of the eye) still lacks pigment. Eyelids and eyebrows are in place, and his pancreas, essential for hormone production, is developing steadily.

Special Guest
Some special guest came and visited at the Valentine's Banquet at Emmanuel. Can you guess who?? If you listen carefully after Kim introduces them all the youth say, "Who, what?" They had never heard of them before! :)
Week 21/Dr Appointment Update
Of course you have all heard by now we have a healthy baby boy! We are very excited! Lots of comments/questions about names. Not sure yet, still in the planning process!
The doctor's visit went great. We had the sonogram which lasted about 25 minutes and then a short visit with the doctor. He said all blood work came back negative. Some of this was for genetic testing so that's a praise! I have one more appointment with this clinic/doctor and then we will be going to our new doctor in Mt Pleasant. Pray for a good and quick relationship to build with a quality doctor that we trust.
Our baby boy now weighs 13 ounces and is 9 inches long according to the sonogram technician. His eyebrows and eyelids are fully developed.
We can certainly feel him move. Daddy was able to feel him move for the first time this week!! That was really exciting.

Valentine's Banquet
The youth at Emmanuel had a Valentine's Banquet last night. Below are some pictures. The theme was 80's and they had it decorated really cute!

This was right before you entered the gym. We had several parents there helping. Some even dressed in 80's style! Darn, I couldn't find any maternity clothes from the 80s.

Some of the girls all decked out! There was a line in the bathroom to get bright blue eye shadow, puffy bangs, and/or crimped hair!

This was the entry way into the gym. It was covered into a hallway with black construction plastic. There was a fog machine, black lights, strobe light and Helium balloons. The kids really enjoyed it!

I know this is hard to see. There were several round tables with bright table clothes and balloon centerpieces. They had the lights off and were using stage lights and christmas lights to light the room. Each chair had a rubrics cube keychain for the kids.

20 week update
Baby T weighs about 10 1/2 ounces now and around 6 1/2 inches long from head to bottom, and about 10 inches from head to heel. - For the first 20 weeks, measurements are taken from the top of the baby's head to the bottom — known as the "crown to rump" measurement. After that, measurements are from head to toe. This is because a baby's legs are curled up against the torso during the first half of pregnancy and are very hard to measure.
Friday is the big day! We are so ready. Pray for this week to go by fast (especially since we are apart)

Registry Adventures 1.0
Well we are one week away from the answer to the always exciting question of "is it a boy or girl?" Friday cannot come soon enough for Mama and Papa T. Baby T is doing fine and I think is probably having fun listening (oh yes, it can hear us) to Mom and Dad discuss whether we think it will need baby blue or pastel pink.
Tonight we took our first adventure to Babies R' Us (as new parents). We went to browse but decided why not start the registry process and register for things we will need no matter cowgirl or cowboy. We registered for bottles, diapers, a book or two, and the ever popular butt paste. The night was quite eventful and really a lot of fun. We were both a bit taken back on the plethora of items needed to raise our offspring. But no need to worry because our occasional wide eyes were accompanied by our ever present wide smiles.
Our baby registry is far from complete but you can check it out at Babies R' Us.

19 week update
Baby T weighs about 8 1/2 ounces, and measures 6 inches, head to bottom. The arms and legs are in the right proportions to each other and the rest of the body now. The kidneys continue to make urine, and the hair on his scalp is sprouting. This is a crucial time for sensory development: baby T's brain is designating specialized areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision, and touch.
Two more weeks until we find out if we are having a girl or a boy! :)
