4th of July Fun

After a year off, the Tomlinson's rejoined the Webb of Fire Pyrotechnic Crew over the 4th. I got back from camp on July 2nd at 1:40 p.m. and we ran home and threw a few more things in the truck and left for Grapevine by 2:45 p.m. Benita had everything packed and ready to go. We stopped and picked up a travel trailer (see below) and we camped out at the shoot site with the Webbs. My mom and Brenna stayed with us. Brenna worked on the crew and my mom watched Hayden. We did a small show on Friday night, the 3rd and then a huge show on the 4th. It was so much fun. Lots of work but great time! Congrats to Dan and Holly and Webb of Fire for celebrating 10 years of blowing stuff up! Thanks for letting us be a part of the fun!

This is our redneck son bathing in a plastic tub on a parking lot. He loved it!

Benita is going to kill me for putting this picture on the blog, but she got shoot the show on Friday. It's all done electronically and synchronized to music. She did great. The show was perfect and everything went off.

This is the trailer after it was wired for the Friday night show. The Friday night show ran about 10 or 11 minutes. Then on Saturday the entire trailer was the finally and went up in under a minute. It rocked!

This is a shot from Friday night. The sillohettes are Dan and Benita.

5 years!

On June 19th (I know, that was like a month ago), Benita and I celebrated 5 wonderful years of marriage! We went and ate some Chinese food and then went and saw the movie, UP! It was a lot of fun. And the best part of it was we got to keep the glasses.

updates

So life has been crazy around here. Lots of traveling. Daddy has been to senior trip and youth camp this last month. While he was gone we went to Tyler and Temple. Then we did fireworks with Dan in Grapevine. Finally home for a while.

Hayden is teething. His front left tooth has broken through and we think some more are on the way. He is so close to walking. He will stand by himself for a few seconds. We are waiting for it any day now!

Surgery

Well we survived!

We had to be at the hospital at 6:15 this morning for Hayden's surgery. He had tubes put into his ears to help with all of his ear infections.

Granny came and spent the night with us last night and went with us. We got there on time and they came in and took vitals - blood pressure, temperature, and attempted several times to get oxygen levels and heart rate. Finally they came in with another type of reader which worked.

He also had to put on a hospital gown which was strange to see on him. We took some pictures - will post soon.

About 7:30 they came and got him to go to the back. Luckily the nurse that got him had a bright green hat which distracted him and he didn't even realize he left mom and dad. No crying at all. Except from mom of course.

Our pastor - Bro Kyle - and his wife Angela came. So did a good friend Tricia. We visited for a while which helped me!

Ten minutes later the doctor came back in and said all went well and we would be able to see him soon. They would only let one of us back in the recovery room so I went and then started crying immediately. Hayden was screaming his all of his lungs. Poor baby. They had him wrapped in several blankets. I held him and we gave him some pedialyte (he had not eaten since 8:30 the night before) We had to do that first because in case while he drank he screamed and the liquid got into his lungs it would be absorbed. Then he had his bottle which he would sip some then scream, sip, scream over and over.

We then got to go back into his outpatient room to see daddy. He continued to be a little fussy but settled down by the time we got out of the hospital. He just wanted out of there!!

He is doing much better now. Acting like a little boy again. There is some blood draining from his ear which the doctor said would happen. He has to have drops two times a day for seven days.

That was our eventful morning and now I am going to take a nap while Hayden is asleep!
